Well, fuck. Once again, I would like to voice my support for the ProtectSmokey movement. I will be super bummed if anything bad happens to him.

*throws peanut butter out*

Your concern is appreciated 💚🩷

You're our peanut butter is the harshest thing in this whole chapter.

MA Knight's avatar

Again: another line I almost chopped 🫢

Alex Shifman's avatar

If you almost chop a line and don’t I’m probably going to love it

MA Knight's avatar

I love this trend

It’s occurring to me that Bianca has been carrying this phone around that has potentially allowed the dyers to be listening to every conversation she has 😱

MA Knight's avatar

My lips are sealed!

Tom Schecter's avatar

Fuuuuuuck

Ed the Editor's avatar

Well fuck these guys.

INTENSE narration.

Tom Schecter's avatar

Oh goddamnit. They were working with an imperfect plan to start with but this is so much more fucked than I was expecting it to get. Stomach in knots over here. Well done.

MA Knight's avatar

Yes!!! What else could possibly go wrong?

Emily S Hurricane's avatar

Right?! STRESSFUL

Tom Schecter's avatar

Uh huh!

Emily S Hurricane's avatar

I think it’s even worse as a parent because I can totally sympathize with Bianca’s stress and wanting to protect her mom, but also with Elena because deep down she knows something is fucked up but doesn’t quite know how to connect and help. Her child is an adult and there’s no way she could ever guess the actual danger of what’s going on so she’s trying to be supportive but also let her adult daughter work through life. Ugh 😭

MA Knight's avatar

Elena could never guess… but it’s cocktail on cruise ship time

Walt Shuler's avatar

Gaaaaahhhhhh!

MA Knight's avatar

Nuts, right?

So much of this was painful. I don't want to think about where Gwen is, dammit.

The last paragraph with Wade in the backseat felt so much longer because of the dread. When I went back to read it (after listening) I was surprised it was just a few sentences. Well done. It felt like a lifetime.

MA Knight's avatar

I always like my work more when emily reads it… she just adds so much emotion and makes everything sound more natural.

Wade in the backseat!!! On the floorboards. That image popped in my head and surprised me. Creeped me out

RM Greta's avatar

it felt so wrong in the right way. damn.

Hylia Corvidae's avatar

Jesus fucking Christ that last line is so unsettling from him 😭😂

MA Knight's avatar

Yes he makes me cringe

Richard Pack's avatar

Well. There goes the teeny tiny mote of grace I'd been trying to save for the Dyers. Not that I ever thought they were in the right, but maaaaybe they really thought it was for the best?

Anyway, fully on board the 'werewolf, (or werewolves), rip them to shreds' train now.

MA Knight's avatar

All aboard the rip them to shreds train! I’m happy to hear you have (had?) complicated feelings, tho. It’s a sticky situation!

Richard Pack's avatar

Sticky for sure, which is one of the things I love about it, but yeah, once you're kidnapping and tranquilizers people and their dogs as part of a general habit of treating your daughter like an animal instead of a person, that's too far.

MA Knight's avatar

I’d say so too, Richard! I’d say… they’re gonna get what’s coming to them! Maybe. We’ll find out Thursday.

Saint-Lazare's avatar

Shiiit can't believe Bianca got caught so easily nooooooo 😭😭😭

MA Knight's avatar

Love is a liability (love for Smokey, too)

Saint-Lazare's avatar

Poor doggy, he didn't ask for all this

Edith Bow's avatar

Damn. I can't believe Bianca got captured. The tension is gut wrenching. Oof! Love it.

MA Knight's avatar

Love is a liability !

MM Rossi's avatar

Ughhhhh. God!!!!!! That ending was chef's kiss.

MA Knight's avatar

THANK YOU CHEF 🩷

omg!
